Earthquake Geologist, Phd.
Postdoctoral researcher in Earthquake Geology and Fault Displacement Hazard
Department of Engineering and Geology, University “G. D’Annunzio” of Chieti-Pescara, Chieti,
Graduated with honours in Geological Sciences and Technology in 2018 (University of Chieti, Italy), in 2023 he defended a PhD thesis in Earthquake Geology and Fault Displacement Hazard Analysis applied to the safety of a dam located in the Northern Apennines of Italy. He has worked, since shortly after graduation on Seismic Microzonation, with particular focus on Faul Displacement Hazard, within a fellowship at the University of Chieti. Since 2020 he works as seismic hazard and fault displacement hazard consultant for the safety of dams in the Italian peninsula. In 2023 he co-founded and become the director of Shaking s.r.l., a spin-off of the University of Chieti dealing with seismic hazard and fault displacement hazard assessment of critical infrastructures.
He participated to the field survey of coseismic surface effects of earthquakes in Italy (2016) and Croatia (2020).
In 2020 he was awarded by the Geological Society of Italy for the best paper on “Thematic Geocartography” (Testa et al. 2019, GFTM).
Since 2021 he is providing teaching assistance in the seismic microzonation course of the master’s degree program in Geological Sciences and Technologies at the University of Chieti (Italy).
Since 2024 he is involved in the production of the official Italian geological map with the role of geological surveying.
He is the author and co-author of several scientific papers published in national and international journals (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Alessio-Testa) and actively collaborates with universities and research institutes worldwide.
