Associate professor of earthquake geology at University “G. D’Annunzio” of Chieti (Italy).
Graduated with honors in Geological Sciences in 1993, in 1998 he defended a PhD thesis in seismotectonics of the Northern Apennines of Italy.
The main fields of interest are Earthquake Geology, Seismotectonics, Seismic Hazard, Seismic Microzonation and Fault Displacement Hazard analysis (fault zoning and probabilistic fault displacement hazard analysis, PFDHA).
Member of international and Italian research groups: Fault2SHA: linking faults to seismic hazard assessment in Europe; SURFACE: SURface FAulting Catalogue – Earthquakes; Open EMERGEO Working Group; Working Group “Benchmarking Current Practices in Probabilistic Fault Displacement Hazard Assessment for Existing Nuclear Installations”, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA); Fault Displacement Hazard Initiative – University of California, Los Angeles; Italian Working Group “Seismic Microzoning”, National Department for Civil Protection; Italian Working Group “Guidelines for land use in areas with active and capable faults (ACF)”, National Department for Civil Protection.
